No, Cleta is completely free for the entire UTEC community. The service is included as a benefit for students, faculty, and staff. There are no registration fees, daily usage charges, or hidden fees of any kind.

Currently, bicycles are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. The app will show you available bicycles in real-time on the interactive map. Simply go to the location of the bicycle you prefer and scan the QR code to unlock it.
You can see all available stations on the app’s interactive map. Stations are strategically located on the UTEC campus and at key points in Fray Bentos.
Once you find an available bicycle, open the Cleta app, select “Unlock” and scan the QR code on the bicycle’s handlebar. The smart lock will open automatically.
Each user has a weekly minute limit for using bicycles, which you can see in your app profile. This limit is designed to ensure that all users have equitable access to the service. You’ll receive notifications when you approach your time limit.
You must return the bicycle to any of the official Cleta stations. The app will show you all available stations on the map. Once you arrive at a station, secure the bicycle with the smart lock.
If you have any issue (flat tire, faulty brakes, lock not working, etc.), you can report it immediately through the “Report Incident” section in the app. Our team will receive the notification and help you resolve it.
If the bicycle suffers damage from normal use during your trip, don’t worry. Simply report it in the app when ending the trip. You will only be held responsible if it’s determined there was negligent or intentional use of the equipment.
No, Cleta accounts are personal and non-transferable. Each user is responsible for trips made with their account. Sharing your account may result in service suspension.
If you exceed your daily time limit, you’ll receive notifications reminding you to return the bicycle. Excessive use may result in a temporary reduction of your available minutes for the next period.
If you forgot to lock the bicycle when ending your trip, your session will remain active and time will continue to be counted. You must return to lock it and end the trip in the app. If you can’t return, contact support through the app for assistance.
There’s no specific limit on trips per day, but there is a total weekly usage time limit. You can make as many trips as you want as long as you don’t exceed your available time.
In the app, go to the “Profile” section and then to “Trip History”. There you can see all your previous trips with details.
You need internet connection to unlock the bicycle and end the trip. During the trip, the app can work offline, but it’s recommended to keep the connection active to receive important notifications.
